HIGHLIGHTS from 162nd Regular Meeting on 15th Jan, 2022

Everyone Benefits and Grows from Each Session Welcome 2022! 

We started the New Year Meeting with the Opening Speech from our warm and motivating President Momo. Let’s start the year with a bang!

The Grammarian, Hong introduced the word “ perpetual” as the Word of the Day. 

The first session on the agenda was the Tongue Twister Session. In celebration of the Year of the Tiger, Anne introduced 2 tongue twisters.  

The second session was “My Senri Experience” by Yuki. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. I think many of us can connect with your feelings of nervousness. 

The third session was the Prepared Speech Session. Tami’s speech was entitled “Brave and Reckless Battle.” It touched my heart. Tenten’s speech was based upon the objective to present a speech about sharing the impact and importance of having a mentor. He gave us good examples of creativity and positivity. And finally,  Momo’s speech, “My Greatest Speaker,” was an excellent example of effective delivery skills. 

The fourth session was the Evaluation Session. The goal of an Evaluator is to provide fellow members with helpful and constructive evaluations. I appreciate the four Evaluators who helped us with useful feedback and made us feel eager and empowered to deliver our next speech. 

The fifth session was the Table Topics session. Marilyn designed a flyer with colorful balloons. Each participant chose a color and gave an impromptu speech based on the color they had chosen. Some examples were: “Out of the Blue”, “Red Hot Spicy Food” and, “ The Meaning of the Color Green.” It was a lot of fun and a great way to add some variety to the meeting. 

In closing, I truly feel that we can benefit and learn something from each session. If you have not had the pleasure of visiting our friendly club, please join us January 29th(Special Event) and February 19 ! We basically meet every 3rd Saturday of the month.
